novella is an erotic romance and delivers on both counts - it is quite romantic
and is full of some hot bed play." Marina, Cupid's Library Reviews for Revealing
Photos " UNDER HER SKIN is so much more than a wonderful romance, it’s
a lesson in love and acceptance. It is an experience not to be missed."

And if you don't celebrate it, then I wish you a joyous and wonderful day! Drive safe. Eat safe. Be safe. :) And then treat yourself to a good book!
Hooray!!!! Now to catch up on everything I put aside to finish the book. And then there's revisions, and submissions... but for now, I can sit back, smile, and say I'm done! So what's the deal with working in pajamas? Okay, so I write in my pajamas. In fact, on the weekends its hard pressed to get me out of them unless I'm headed to the store or the barn. But, I'll be starting to work from home next week, and everyone's talking about how nice it'll be to work in pj's. I don't know about that. It's one thing to be in a night shirt cranking out a smokin' hot love scene. And I sit in my pjs and make business calls (like to make appointments or to companies, etc.), but to actually take inbound calls from financial professionals in my pj's? I'm thinking it'll be hard enough to sit in a t-shirt (such as one of my more pithy ones like "Joss Whedon is my master now" or my EC "Got Sex?" shirt) and talk to customers. No, they can't see me. And I can't see them (thank goodness, because sometimes you never know where someone is trying to get their computer fixed). But, there's a professional thing going on there, you know? I know I get strange looks when I mention it to my coworkers. They're looking forward to working from home, playing WOW (World of Warcraft for the unitiated) and in general being the techy geeky guys they are (and we love them for it, seriously). But can you really work from home in your pj's? One of the things I like to do is review the books I read. So, I've decided here on my blog, I'll post reviews of books I really enjoyed. I'll state right up front my reviews are positive, but honest. If a book really didn't work for me, I won't review it here. But, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of my favorites with you. I hope you agree.
No shrinking violet, Linnet is a strong woman more than ready to stand up to those who wish to do her harm, and take exactly what she wants. Luckily for the reader, Graham is firmly on her radar. She wastes no time. The dialogue sparkles and the action keeps the reader turning pages as fast as she can read. A gem of a book, there's nothing hidden about my enjoyment of this novel. A very good read. *pout* So, National Novel Writing Month is a time when crazy people around the world decide to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Today, after writing, I've passed the 52,000 word mark. So, like a little dutiful NaNoWriMoer, I go to their website to upload the file. And they won't validate winners for another freaking week. Bastards. (I'm smiling as I say that) Okay, so my goal is 60,000 words and I should be done by Thanksgiving or the Friday after it at the latest. But still, it's the principle of the thing. I'm done. I won. I want my banner and my smiley and my confetti. Alas....not for another week. Pout. My grandma and I have a Sunday night date. She tells me sometime during the week what the public television show Nature is going to be about, and then if I can, I watch and we discuss. Tonight's show - "Penguins of the Antarctic." Now the polar bears living in my muse (I'm working on polar bear shape shifters and so am residing somewhere north of the Arctic circle with hunky Scandinavian men) looked at the varieties of penguins and went, "mmm, lunch." The bird lover in me watched their comical waddles, their struggle to raise their chicks, and went "awww." However my muse remembered a book it read, "Silent Snow" about PCB pollution and climate change in the Arctic, and went "yeah, that's what it was talking about" and reminded me of why I now have this fascination with polar bears. So the muse has come full circle and touched both poles in doing so. One subject may set a writer off on a tangent, but when it surfaces again it does so in new and interesting way. Now I'm probably not going to be writing penguin shape shifters, but oh how adorable (adorable and alpha male don't really go together) if I did. But it was nice to revisit a topic, dwell with it for a while, and gain a new appreciation of the muse. Like the gentle pitter-patter of a spring shower, the ting-ting of sleet against the windows and roof heralds the fading of fall and the arrival of winter. My pen name didn't happen by accident. I love winter. Snow and ice and blustery cold, and curling up with hot cocoa and warm chili. The sight of frosted ponies with frost on their whiskers and on their backs. Plumes of steam coming from their noses as if they were the very horses that pulled the chariot of the sun across the sky. So, although I worried because my mom was coming up to visit today (she made it safe, as usual her daughter over-reacted about the weather, LOL!!!), I rejoiced to hear the siren song of sleet. I brought groceries into the house pelted by tiny ice balls that looked like the stuffing of some forgotten stuffed animal strewn over the landscape. I stood on my head (nearly) in the shed to retrieve the lost bucket of ice melt, only to find it had frozen solid. I listened to the slide of ice pellets against the car and the shush of tires through a motley mixture of water, ice, and snow. And when the snow came it pounded the ground, a great, white fluffy blanket that covered the grass and accumulated on cars. Through the window at work I watched trucks, semis, and cars alike speeding down the interstate, seemingly oblivious to the flurry of nature around them. And I smiled. I contemplated hijacking the intercom system at work to belt out "Let it snow" or "Winter Wonderland," but I thought better of it. So as I watched the snow, a tiny part of me breathed a sigh of relief that once again, my favorite season would soon arrive. Last night I received word that my novella Elemental Elves 1: Horse Play has been accepted for publication at Changeling Press. First off, I want to say that I couldn't have done it without the help and support of some remarkable people, Kate Hill (author extraordinare) foremost among them. *hugs* Thank you so much. (And Kate's work rocks like no tomorrow, so if you haven't picked up anything by her, especially the Elixr Maidens series from Changeling, run...don't walk..through cyberspace to DO SO NOW). So I am thrilled to be among such wonderful company. I've enjoyed Changeling's stories now (such as the incomparable Marteeka Karland (who did my banner, is she great or what?) for a long time. So woo hoo! More information to follow as soon as I have it. And follow me on over to the Night Whispers Authors blog (http://nightwhispersauthors.blogspot.com) where I'll be posting what I'm thankful for. (The aforementioned contract not the least of which). Happy reading!!!! Every once in a while I disover something on itunes that makes the muse sit up and take notice. Tonight, it was music by Hayley Westerna. Beautiful, haunting vocal music, her voice sounds like one of the angels. Her cover of Enya's "May It Be" (which I've also heard covered by Celtic Woman, another one of my favorite groups) is just as haunting as the origional, and not only does it conjure up images of Frodo and Sam on their journey, but also all of us on the journey of our hopes and our dreams. And I find, as I'm writing about the frozen north, the ice-crystal clear days, of plumes of breath and a struggle to survive that the haunting quality of Ms. Westenra's voice really fits the mood. It's the kind of music that makes your heart swell, and because of it, there's just a little bit more room for the muse. Wow... And on the NaNoWriMo total? 17,163 words. I love my polar bear shapeshifters. :)
