I've been wanting to take my "kid" to have his picture taken with Santa Claus for several years now. This is Mr. Nerms, aka Nermal, and he's the youngest of our six cats at 9 years old. He'll be 10 in March. So today, I took him and had his picture taken at our local PetSmart, which is my favorite pet store. We got two photos, some cute little frames, and now I can share his cuteness with the world. Plus about half of the cost went to local animal rescue charities. :) Guess who is going in my holiday cards?

Speaking of cats, one of our eldest, Lucretia (14) has just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. At last we have a diagnosis, and one that isn't scary either. A pill a day and she'll be just fine. Having feared she had feline diabetes, I'm very happy with the diagnosis and know that with proper management, she'll start looking like her old self again.

Enjoy this chilly Saturday. It's a perfect day for curling up with your book, and a cat or three.
