Tuesday, November 21, 2006 Book Review: Hidden Obsession by Joanne Rock

One of the things I like to do is review the books I read. So, I've decided here on my blog, I'll post reviews of books I really enjoyed. I'll state right up front my reviews are positive, but honest. If a book really didn't work for me, I won't review it here. But, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of my favorites with you. I hope you agree.

Hidden Obsession

Harlequin Blaze #256 06/06
ISBN# 0-373-79260-3

Graham Lawson, LAPD weapons expert, is a modern day knight in shining armor. In the middle of investigating a case involving strange sexual practices, he's sent to an exhibit called "sex in the Middle Ages." When he falls through a painting, he discovers a strange tie to his case, and a medieval lass who is ready to steal his heart.

Graham is the kind of man who feels at home in any time. This all-around good guy is strong and stalwart and true. Oh, and did I mention hotter than an August summer day? A picture is worth a thousand words, or so they say, but looking at the cover (okay so I have a thing for strong men with big swords, blame it on Aragorn), I could wax poetic for far more than a thousand words about this hero.

No shrinking violet, Linnet is a strong woman more than ready to stand up to those who wish to do her harm, and take exactly what she wants. Luckily for the reader, Graham is firmly on her radar. She wastes no time. The dialogue sparkles and the action keeps the reader turning pages as fast as she can read. A gem of a book, there's nothing hidden about my enjoyment of this novel. A very good read.
