Wednesday, November 22, 2006 So what's the deal with working in pajamas?

Okay, so I write in my pajamas. In fact, on the weekends its hard pressed to get me out of them unless I'm headed to the store or the barn. But, I'll be starting to work from home next week, and everyone's talking about how nice it'll be to work in pj's.

I don't know about that. It's one thing to be in a night shirt cranking out a smokin' hot love scene. And I sit in my pjs and make business calls (like to make appointments or to companies, etc.), but to actually take inbound calls from financial professionals in my pj's? I'm thinking it'll be hard enough to sit in a t-shirt (such as one of my more pithy ones like "Joss Whedon is my master now" or my EC "Got Sex?" shirt) and talk to customers. No, they can't see me. And I can't see them (thank goodness, because sometimes you never know where someone is trying to get their computer fixed). But, there's a professional thing going on there, you know?

I know I get strange looks when I mention it to my coworkers. They're looking forward to working from home, playing WOW (World of Warcraft for the unitiated) and in general being the techy geeky guys they are (and we love them for it, seriously). But can you really work from home in your pj's?
