Wednesday, October 18, 2006 The Perfect Haircut

I meant to blog about this last week, but then I thought, "oh, that'd be a good blog for the weekend" and then time just slipped away from me. Have you ever made a drastic change in your hair and went, "oh yeah!!!!" Well I did.

I have an hour lunch, so last week, on my lunch break, I went and got all my hair cut off. I have fine hair. Like baby fine. Can't do anything with it. It won't hold a perm, and it's stick straight. Plus, I'm hair stupid. That's right, I admit it. I'm hair stupid. I grew up a tomboy, and I grew up in the 80's in the era of skyscraper bangs (which mine never did) and wings (which my hair never did). So, having grown up knowing my hair wouldn't be "fashionable," I never learned how to do anything with it.

So here's what I do. Cut it off...grow it out...cut it off....grow it out. You can see a recurring theme here, right?

Well, I'd grown out my hair so it was down past my shoulders. You'll see it in those book signing photos I PROMISE I'll upload soon.

So all I can do is whip it back into a pony tail and call it good. Well, you know...it's nice, but meh. And I really like short, cute pixie hair, but no one before has ever quite got it "right." Well apparently I was on the same psychic wavelength as my stylist (mental note to self drop off bookmarks and RT playing cards because she was excited to hear I was a writer), because I told her what I wanted (about this long, layered, over the ears). And she goes "a pixie cut."

I was like, "yeah, a pixie cut."

So cut she did...and dear goddess, it's PERFECT. I just love my hair and have gotten compliments on it. It's the perfect haircut, and I'm quite thrilled with it.

So thrilled, I just had to share...

I finally have the perfect haircut!
